The sandy Ambelos Beach, slightly to the south of Xerokambos, facing the islets of Kavali, is one of the finest in Crete. Divided into several sandy and almost deserted creeks, it attracts naturists. A few ruins of a settlement from Hellenistic times remain by the sea. Take the time to climb up the hill by the Chandras road to admire the view.
