The Michelin Guide's review
Hallaç Monastery was hollowed out in the 11C. The rooms surround a huge natural courtyard carved out of the rock, into which niches were sculpted. The main church is to the right, surmounted by a dome. You then enter a large room whose columns are adorned with finely carved capitals. A second smaller church opens to the left; this is crowned by a central dome, which sports an unusual sculpted figure of an imp or sprite wearing a pointed hat.
