This square offers a superb view of the Turin hills and leads down to the River Po, which can be reached by going down towards the enormous Murazzi defence walls that date from the 19C, now a favourite night-time haunt in the summer months. Beyond the bridge built in honour of Victor-Emmanuel I, note the neo-Classical façade of the Church of the Gran Madre di Dio.
