The Michelin Guide's review
Close to the roadside, among the orange groves of the fertile Argolid, an impressive Cyclopean walled settlement suddenly appears, a masterpiece of Ancient military architecture. Along with Mycenae, Tiryns was the greatest city of Mycenaean civilisation. The ruins of the acropolis that are visible today date mainly from the late 13C BC. The site is a UNESCO-listed World Heritage Site.
