This square with a regular layout and lined with splendid houses is Tamsweg's pride and joy. The town hall is housed in a 16C building with bartizans, typical of Salzburg country mansions. In Kirchengasse, note St Barbus's Hospice, which houses the Lungau Regional Museum, and Kuenburg Castle, which is made up of several houses dating from the period 1742-45. The delicate stucco decor in the parish church is the work of Johann Kajetan d'Androy.
