The Danube public park offers pleasant strolls along shaded paths. It enjoys a fine position along the Danube, which, at this point, is particularly wide and beautiful. Equipped with benches, the park also has a playground and a small café with live music. During the fine season, it is most pleasant to sit on the terrace, under the climbing vine, and to sip a refreshing drink while watching the fishermen who take over the small "beach". Nearby are the remains of Durostorum (the original name of Silistra, a former Roman garrison town).
