The Michelin Guide's review
With its sidewalk cafes full of tourists, window-shoppers and workers leaving their offices, this aptly named square is the pulse of San Miguel. The Plaza Principal - also known as the Jardín Principal or Plaza de Allende - is lined by the (19C) Church of San Miguel Arcángel, with a neo-Gothic look on the south, and by two lovely 18C buildings: the Museo Histórico de Allende (on the southwest corner) and the Palacio de los Condes de Canal (to the northwest).
