The Michelin Guide's review
In a verdant spot on the edge of the Périgord region, this sprawling building complex is interesting both architecturally and in terms of the social project behind it. Designed in 1920 to accommodate those having sustained lung injuries in the First World War, the Cité Sanitaire de Clairvivre was built between 1930 and 1933 by architect Pierre Forestier, inspired by the theories of Bauhaus and Le Corbusier. Since 1980, as an EPD (departmental public establishment) it has been providing medical and social services and lodgings.
