The museum devoted to local boy Pierre Soulages, who rose to become one of the major figures of contemporary art, was opened in 2014 in Rodez. The glass and steel cubic structure showcases over 500 works donated by the artist. Abstract paintings on canvas and paper, lithographs, templates of the stained-glass windows of Sainte-Foy de Conques and bronze sculptures depict the evolution of his art.
