The Michelin Guide's review
Founded by Augustinian nuns in the 1640s, this monastery is best known for its hospital, the Hôtel-Dieu, which still cares for the sick today. The church, designed by Pierre Émond in 1800, has been integrated into the monastery's huge ultra-modern glass structure. The museum, which has also been renovated, presents a collection of objects and artworks which illustrate the Augustinian Nuns' history and heritage and the role that the nuns have played in healthcare in Quebec.
