Pau's Musée des Beaux-Arts has been designed in such a way that masters of painting and sculpture rub shoulders with local artists (Eugène Devéria and his pupil, Victor Galos), creating an intriguing mix of old and contemporary works enhanced by an aesthetic, theme-based layout. Here you can admire Italian, Flemish, Spanish, French and English paintings from the 15C-20C, including the superb Impressionist work A Cotton Office in New Orleans by Degas.
