Stiff Lighthouse
Michelin Guide
Civil and military monument
The Michelin Guide's review
Stiff Lighthouse was built by Vauban in 1695. It is made up of two towers side by side. One of them houses the spiral staircase (126 steps) and the other has three small bedrooms, one on top of the other. Its light travels approximately 50km thanks to a 1000 W halogen lamp (with 600 000 candela power). One can appreciate the panoramic view of the islands, the mainland and the Île Vierge lighthouse situated at the Pointe du Raz, close to which there is a radar tower (140m tall) overseeing the sea route.
