The Michelin Guide's review
The estate of the chateau de Canon boasts lovely gardens, characteristic of the Age of Enlightenment and a delightful mixture of reason and imagination. Romantic ruins, Chinese-inspired edifices, grottoes and walled meadows protecting orchards and three-hundred-year-old trees remain much as they were in the 18C when they were created by Elie de Beaumont, enlightened member of parliament and friend of philosophers. Organic farm and zoo to the delight of children.
