The Michelin Guide's review
Discovered in 1965 on the plateau of Méjannes-le-Clap, the Salamandre grotto, which is over 100m/328ft in diameter and some 30m/100ft high, is one of the finest grottoes of Europe. Two tunnels have been created so that the public can admire the site. Those in search of thrills, may want to try the 50m/164ft rappel descent and discover the huge hall starting with the ceiling!
