The Cousteau Reserve, a protected area now managed by the Parc National de la Guadeloupe, is home to some of the island's best diving sites, notably around the small Pigeon islands. This natural site is obviously very popular, but fortunately the coast has not been overdeveloped so that it makes a pleasant base for a holiday offering many different accommodation options.
