The Michelin Guide's review
Crests and wooded hillocks on which the bare rock has a violet hue provide the backdrop on this mountain rising to a height of 1 202m. In olden times, inhabitants of its hamlets of low houses built out of schist lived off poor yields from their terraced crops (rye and maize) and from the rearing of sheep and goats. The mountain, which is typical of the contrasting landscapes of the Beiras region, has been the unfortunate victim of many fires in recent years.
