Well worth the diversions

The Michelin Guide's review
Broadway had its finest hour in the early 20C, when some 15 theatres and cinemas rubbed shoulders on this avenue of Downtown L.A. It was quickly supplanted by Hollywood, but in spite of its lost prestige and its pavements taken over by shops of little interest, it still works its charm. Its imposing, somewhat decrepit historical buildings and its concert halls with billboards of inferior quality evoke the nostalgia of a glorious past.
