While this complex of old houses and lanes, entirely restored in 1996, continues to showcase Irish know-how (knitwear, crystal and design) and is home to souvenir shops, tea rooms and many restaurants, Craft Village nonetheless suffered the brunt of the 2000 economic crisis. However, in the last few years, many craftsmen and women have returned to what aims to represent the creative heart of the historic town, breathing new life into this complex.
