Hortus Botanicus
Michelin Guide
Park or garden
The Michelin Guide's review
It was in this pretty botanical garden, founded by the university in 1594, that Clusius grew the first Dutch tulips. Visitors can explore a reconstruction of Clusius's garden, as well as the orangery and greenhouses which house tropical and subtropical plants, such as the giant Victoria amazonica waterlily. Mature trees planted around the garden add to the appeal.
