The Michelin Guide's review
This museum showcases its prestigious collections of antiquities (Near East, Egypt, Greece and Rome) as well as its archaeology section dedicated to the Netherlands. The Egyptology section is particularly interesting and includes the Temple of Taffeh from the period of rule of the emperor Augustus (27 BC-14 AD), donated to the Netherlands during the construction of the Aswan Dam. In the Netherlands archaeology section, admire the golden Dorestad fibula and the treasure from Wieringen.
