Laomeng Market (54km from Yuanyang) is without a doubt the most impressive market in the region. It brings together 13 different ethnic groups from both sides of the Chinese-Vietnamese border, including the Miao, Yi, Hani, Yao, Zhuang, Han and Dai. Even within the same group (Miao, Yi, Hani) the traditional costumes can vary from one village to the next. The market takes place on Sundays.
