The Gothic-Mudéjar-style monastery, Santa María de la Rábida, charts its role in history through frescoes by Daniel Vázquez Díaz (1930) that illustrate the epic voyage of Cristóbal Colón (Christopher Columbus). Head upstairs to see models of the ships from the "discoveries". The church is home to several valuable works, including the frescoes in the chapels and the coffered polychrome artesonado ceiling.
