The current castle replaced the former fortress, built before the year 1 000, which was remodelled and transformed into a country home in the 17C. From the terrace there is a view of the lovely gardens designed by Le Nôtre and the Provençal countryside. As you look around, note the ceiling with exposed beams, 16C and 17C Aubusson, Flemish and Brussels tapestries, and take in the superb Cordoba leather decorating the great hall. In the 33ha grounds planted with trees, you can explore the zoo area, where almost 600 animals live in large enclosures.
