These days, the indigenous Gitxsan people are present in five villages along the banks of the Skeena river and its tributaries. By following the Totem's path, you'll go through Kitwanga, Gitanyow and Kitseguecla and discover the impressive alignment of totem poles from the late 19C. Understandably, time and weather have robbed the 5-9m/15-30ft poles of their former bright colours.
