On the edge of the small village of Kiti, the church, Panagia Angeloktisti ("built by angels") houses a treasure. A mosaic with a gold background portraying a Virgin Mary and Child. The only one of its kind in Cyprus, this 6C piece is comparable to the wonders of Ravenna. The church in its current guise dates back to the 10C. During Lusignan times, a chapel was added. Beneath its Gothic vaults, tombstones of Frankish noblemen are preserved.
