A popular family destination in the Kampot area, Tek Chhou rapids lie a few hundred yards upstream of the dam. The various shacks and hammocks on the banks bear witness to the spot's popularity (especially at the weekends). A little further upstream, some flat stones in the middle of the river are ideal to lay out your towel and enjoy the sun, or go for a dip of course; the water isn't too deep and can be bathed in till November.
