The Michelin Guide's review
In this paradise of scents and flavours it's hard to resist the myriad offerings on offer, such as the ubiquitous Turkish Delight and other gourmet treats. The Egyptian bazaar also continues to sell herbs and spices, just as it did when it was first opened by the Venetians as a trading centre in the 17C. Although the heavy scents of the Orient are still present, with sacks overflowing with spices, the market has diversified over the years and now includes jewellers, basket makers and copper workers.
