Ioánina Island

The Michelin Guide's review
The charming little island of Ioannina, set against the backdrop of the unfortunately dirty and polluted Lake Pamvotis, is a green and peaceful paradise. Its pretty fishing village and monasteries are worth a visit: Agios Pandeleimon (16C); Agios Ioannis Prodromos (16C church, cave); Philanthropini (13C, reworked in the 16C - remarkable 16C frescoes in the church); Agios Nikolaos Dilios (14C - beautiful 16C frescoes in the church).
