The walls used to surround the hill, Cerro de San Cristóbal. The original Arab line of fortification was rebuilt in the 13C on the order of St James. Built in the 14C, in the old castle, the keep (torre del homenaje) is a massive square tower that stands between the vestiges of the fortress.
