The Michelin Guide's review
What better way to get to know The Hague than through its pride and joy, the Mauritshuis? This pleasant museum showcases masterpieces of Dutch art (in particular, Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring) in a magnificent setting: an elegant residence built in 1640 for Count Johan Maurits van Nassau, which highlights the life of a well-to-do family in the 17C. Renovated in 2015, the original building has doubled in size thanks to an Art Deco extension used to host temporary exhibitions.
