It is lined with arcades housing numerous artisan and tradespeople's shops, and boasts a superb old building that was discovered by chance during restoration work. On the right, the keep of the Palais du Via dominates the valley. At no 58, there is a remarkable 17C gateway. The rue du Château-du-Roi becomes the rue des Soubirous (note, at no 88, the medieval house with its restored stall on the ground floor and its residential windows on the first floor), then rue St Barthélémy.
