This fine neo-Moorish building was constructed between 1898 and 1901 by Hungarian architect Lipót Baumhorn (1860-1932), who was active in his home country, but also in Serbia and Romania. The size is indicative of the importance of Brasov's Jewish community until Antonescu's dictatorship.
