This imposing 12C cathedral is one of Europe's major examples of Romanesque architecture. Step back and take in the animation of the Poitou-style façade: the majestic sculptured mural has five lofty arcades, in which more than 70 figures, sculptures and bas-reliefs depict The Last Judgement and The Ascension. The sheer size of the interior is impressive; note in particular its remarkable capitals.
