Wetherill Mesa
Michelin Guide
Well worth the diversions
Historical and archaeological site
The Michelin Guide's review
More remote and wilder than its neighbour, Chapin Mesa, Wetherill Mesa is one of the two main sites of Mesa Verde National Park, a remarkable park that charts the history of the Ancestral Puebloans. A winding road dotted with splendid panoramic views takes you to the wonderful vestiges of two cliff villages, Long House and Step House. This fascinating visit is also quite physical, as you have to climb up three ladders inside the site.
