The Michelin Guide's review
With its vibrant atmosphere and unique charm, this inviting self-proclaimed "neo-Bavarian" restaurant stands out from the crowd. It embodies a fusion of trendy, urban-casual vibes and cuisine inspired by the owner's Allgäu roots. In the four-course "Schmankerl Menu", the 12-course "Wirtshaus Maximus Menu" and the small à la carte selection, Markus Stöckle transforms traditional dishes into original creations packed with flavour. A prime example is the "Radi Wickerl" (braised leaves, sansho, pickled kombu and radish). The wine list, which includes a selection of natural wines, is also impressive. The service is pleasingly down-to-earth and friendly – the charismatic proprietor is also on hand, making sure each guest feels well looked after.
