This museum is an indispensable part of a visit to the Zaanse Schans area, providing an insight into the modern-day Zaan region and its industrial heritage. It is home to 32 000 exhibits ranging from the 17C to the present day, displayed as part of three dynamic exhibitions full of surprises. The museum also pays homage to the local chocolate-maker, Verkade, the most famous in the country.
