With splendid perspectives, exquisite planting and pools adorned with statues, master landscape artist, Le Nôtre, created gardens for the Sun King that would overshadow those by Fouquet at Vaux-le-Vicomte, of which the king was jealous. It is a joy to discover the network of gardens, fountains, pools, statues, grottoes and stacks of rocks out of which water, all the rage at the time, would gush forth. The Grandes Eaux water show allows visitors to admire this masterpiece in full.
