As you head up towards the Col de Serre-Mure (altitude 765m), you'll enjoy fine views from this attractive ridge road of the Vivarais mountain peaks, the Eyrieux valley, Pays de Boutières and the western slopes of the Piton de Pierre-Gourde. As you approach Vernoux, coming down towards the Gorges de la Dunière, the Château de la Tourette comes into view. The road then comes to Boffres, built on an outcrop, and the magnificent site of the ruined Château de Pierre-Gourde.
