Hohentübingen Castle houses a Museum of Archaeology with a particularly well-endowed Pre- and Protohistory department. Its many exceptional artefacts include a tiny horse carved in mammoth ivory from the Vogelherd cave. The Classical Antiquity, Ancient Egypt and Oriental sections are also interesting. Note in particular the tomb offering chamber completely covered in bas-relief sculptures.
