The Michelin Guide's review
Founded in 1135 and expanded in the 13C, the Great Mosque of Taza is considered one of the most beautiful mosques in the Islamic world. Following the sanctuary round to the right, you will see several lavishly decorated gates before reaching the long, straight street that is the main thoroughfare of the medina. Silence hangs over the comfortable residences built on all sides. Beyond the small mosque of Sidi Azouz (12C), you enter into the souk district, overlooked by the unusual minaret of the Market Mosque.
