Fourth son of King Oscar II, Prince Eugen (1865-1948) made Djurgården his permanent residence in 1905. Beautifully situated on the canal that links Stockholm to the sea, its interesting collections make a visit particularly rewarding. Works by the prince and his friends, together with his personal collection (Nordic paintings and sculpture) give an insight into the Nordic countries' artistic world in the early 20C.
