The Michelin Guide's review
The 66km of the narrow-gauge railway never fail to impress visitors. Completed in 1900 to allow access to the goldmines, the line links Skagway to Whitehorse, in Canada's Yukon territory. It follows a route that is at times difficult, with magnificent views. You get to White Pass on a restored period wagon, after the train climbs to almost 1 000m over 32km, crossing a considerable number of bridges.
