The Michelin Guide's review
Covering 1,805km² along the west coast of the Great Northern Peninsula, Gros Morne National Park, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987, boasts some geological marvels. It owes its spectacular scenery to the flat-topped Long Range Mountains, over a billion years old, which comprise the northernmost part of the Appalachians. Between the plateau and the coast lies a plain, surrounded by cliffs, sandy shores and little fishing communities.
