Oudaia Kasbah
Michelin Guide
Well worth the diversions
Civil and military monument
The Michelin Guide's review
A defensive fortress and observation post (10C), the kasbah occupies a position on higher ground. Once through the splendid Oudaia Gate, a magisterial entry point, turn right into Rue Jamaa, which runs through the kasbah. Beyond a gate is the Plateforme du Sémaphore (signal station), from where there is a fine view of the Bou Regreg estuary and the vast Muslim cemetery spread over the slope of the hill between the medina and the sea. Then head to the Oudaïa Gardens for spectacular views, which are best enjoyed at sunset.
