The beach at Grande-Anse is a delightful stretch of white sand fringed by coconut palms which, despite the snack bars, barbecues and toilets that have appeared, remains a spectacular sight. You should, however, resist swimming here due to its dangerously turbulent waters frequented by sharks. Instead, relax and take a dip in the small natural pool to the left. The majestic Piton de Grande Anse looms over this untamed setting, descending steeply into the metallic blue ocean below.
