The Michelin Guide's review
A symbol of resistance to communist power, this futuristic church was built entirely by its inhabitants, supported by the future Pope John Paul I, then Archbishop of Krakow. Nicknamed the Lord's Ark, its shape calls to mind Noah's Ark, a thinly veiled metaphor for the conviction that Christianity would survive communism. Bathed in bright light and presided over by a gigantic bronze Christ leaning over the congregation like a sail filled with wind, the interior certainly makes an impression.
