Religious monument
The Michelin Guide's review
The cathedral provides a perfect example of the development of church architecture from Late Romanesque to Early Gothic. The famed benefactors' statues in the west chancel are the work of the "Master of Naumburg", a local artist universally agreed to have taken medieval German sculpture to its greatest heights. The rood screen bears a series of high reliefs depicting scenes from the Passion.
