Deserted since 1960, the site has become a true nature reserve, overrun by vegetation. However, it has retained substantial traces of the old quarries and their industrial activity. Opposite, the 19C former quarry-master's house and workshops feature a museum that recalls the history of stone working in Belgium, especially in the Ath area (tools, machines and iconographic documents).
