The Michelin Guide's review
This theatre is named after a builder, Mr Sadler, who in 1683 rediscovered some springs (wells) of mineral water. In the 17C it was a musical centre, then in 1840 it became a classical and Shakespearean theatre. In 1998, construction of a well-designed modern building breathed new life into the theatre, which is now used as a venue for performances of classical and contemporary dance.
