The huge estate of poet Gabriele d'Annunzio (1863-1938) is a sort of sanctuary where the poetry, patriotism and warrior-like heroism of this aesthetic writer are vaunted against the tragic backdrop of Fascism and the writer's difficult relationship with Mussolini. The La Prioria villa recalls the dark and cluttered atmosphere in which the poet liked to live, while the Museo D'Annunzio Eroe and Museo D'Annunzio Segreto look back at his life and work. The gardens offer superb views of Lake Garda.
